Keeping the Love Alive
By Tanya Baker
It has been said that everyone has a soul-mate: the one who makes your heart sing, finishes your sentences and knows what to say and when to say it.
That sounds great, but how are you supposed to find that person? There certainly is no shortage of resources to help in the search. On-line dating, speed-dating, the grocery store and even well-meaning friends are all familiar avenues that singles take in the search for love.
But what if all of these options have been exhausted and have left you alone and disappointed, or even worse, with a stalker?
According to Marci Moore and Pam Williams, there is hope and help is on the way. Experiencing magic in their own relationship, they wanted to share it with others. The two women started Magical Partners officially 18 months ago but have been offering informal workshops for many years.
"People around us kept saying, 'You two have something magic.' The truth is we have known that from day one and wanted to share it with the world," said Moore.
Knowing they were blessed and wanting to share it took some time though. They prepared for this by studying everything they could get their hands on and completing a specialized coach training program. Magical Partners provides such services as singles events, workshops and coaching.
"You have to know where to look and you have to get out there. We've met hundreds of delightful people looking for their soul-mate. It's just a matter of you connecting with them," says Moore.
As coaches, they hold clients accountable for their goals and dreams. They also help singles see big red flags when their hearts are blind. Coaching isn't therapy, but when therapy is appropriate, they make referrals to qualified therapists.
Magical partners is open to all people because Moore and Williams say that relationship magic is available to everyone and they do not discriminate against anyone. However, they do have a special place in their hearts for the gay community because they are familiar with the trials that sometimes befall them.
"For the comfort of our clients, we do offer closed events specifically for the gay community as well as mixed events. Mixed events are my favorites because they help foster understanding between the gay and straight communities," says Williams.
Williams and Moore have been together for over nine years, have known each other for 14 years and say that part of their magic comes from the fact that they know each other so well.
"We each appreciate the uniqueness of the other, and each of us likes saying 'I'm a package deal‚'" says Williams. FMI
